Suction drainage, which is usually after major surgery remain temporarily in the area of operations. Most of it lies in the joint or subcutaneous. It is named after the French surgeon Henry Kiefer Redon. It consists of a drainage tube wall thickness, which is perforated at the end several times, and placed under a vacuum container. Depending on the wound secretion, drainage is removed after about 48-72 hours. Redon drains are available in different sizes, with both controlled and uncontrolled with suction.
