The Focus RS MK1 offers exceptional performance potential with a chassis to match. The turbocharged two litre engine features forged Mahle pistons from factory allowing power up to 400 without upgrading engine internals. The standard Garrett 2560 turbo is equally well specified giving flow far beyond the original output of 212bhp.Of course, as with all RS models, the desire to go further is strong and this is where Sabre steps forward in a very exciting way! Everything is just smooth as it should be until you hit the loud pedal and let the boost thrust you into the back of your seat harder than ever! Unlike the standard turbo, this pulls all the way to 7000rpm with no lag. Just hold on and enjoy every moment of torque because it’s like a thoroughbred, the RS horses kick into overdrive and everyone is grinning like the Joker. First up is the turbo which will require an aftermarket or hybrid option such as the Sabre 400RS (mapping options are available for all other aftermarket turbos). In conjunction with this is the renowned Sabre Big MAF upgrade which is essential for high powered tuning. Bigger injectors, fuel pump and colder spark plugs complete the parts list. A clutch upgrade will be required, but many MK1 RS have already had this completed. A high octane fuel is required for the RS MK1 at all times.
