The Focus ST MK3 introduces the new Ford Ecoboost platform in 2012 and what a departure it is from the previous 2.5 engine. One less cylinder and less displacement, but more power and torque due to the new high compression GDI engine which is coupled to a very tight and refined chassis. It is an exceptional engine in concept and accordingly features a new and very complex Bosch/Ford ECU architecture. This has become the mainstay for of all Ecoboost Ford ECUs up to present day albeit with significant revisions to suit.The Sabre Stage 2 enhances performance with the addition of some basic hardware upgrades in conjunction with some key tuning refinements to suit. While the factory turbo is very small and thus limits sustained boost pressures, we can still see some gains with the addition of a freer flowing exhaust and better air cooling. The absolute refinement and enhanced control of the Stage 1 is retained, but now with performance up to 300bhp & 360lbs/ft.
